Graduation Requirements

Students need a minimum of 21.5 credits to graduate.

All classes satisfactorily completed earn .5 credits per semester.

All students must enroll in at least six classes per semester.

The principal must approve any deviation from this requirement.

  • Students must complete the MME (or alternate exam as authorized by IEP)

  • ENGLISH - 4 credits required.  Required classes are English 9, English 10, English 11, and one elective English

  • SCIENCE - 3 credits required.  Required classes are Biology, Chemistry or Physics, and one elective science

  • MATHEMATICS - 4 credits required.  Must include Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and one math course must be take during student's senior year

  • SOCIAL STUDIES - 3 credits required.  Requirements include World History, U.S. History, Government, and Economics

  • COMPUTER ACADEMICS TECHNOLOGY (CAT) - .5 credit required

  • PHYSICAL EDUCATION and HEALTH - 1 credit required

  • VISUAL, PERFORMING and APPLIED ARTS - 1 credit required

  • FOREIGN LANGUAGE - 2 credits (Beginning with the Class of 2016)

​Only 5th year seniors who have met all requirements may graduate in January.



Students may take a cumulative examination in core content areas to earn the high school credit for graduation.  Students must pass the test with a score of 80% or better to earn such credit; no letter grade will be applied to the student's grade point average.  Tests are only offered within the first 2 days of each semester and it is the student's responsibility to inquire and register for said tests.
